6 January 2012
Great Yarmouth, England - The Norwich All Stars had three of their starters unavailable to play against veteran side, PCC Gunners on Friday night. As a result the Gunners took full home court advantage and got off to a flying start winning the first period 25-8.
The lack of team practice for the All Stars over the holidays really showed last night said Coach Wilson. The All Stars fitness, timing and passion for defense struggled as the Gunners continued to build the lead winning the second period 28-16
We got into foul trouble early in the game reaching for the ball and stayed there throughout as the Gunners capitlised and converted 19 out of 22 free throws compared to making 3 free throws out of 6 for the All Stars. The Gunners were just prolific and performed well tonight. The Gunners also won the third period 26-15 and the final fourth period, 26-23.
Adam Janiszewski 18 points, Luke Grimbly, 13 points and Kevin Johnson scored 13 points to lead the All Stars top scorers.
Shooting Guard, T. Ceriauskas led all scorers for the PCC Gunners attack with 35 points whilst Power Guard, D. Demikis added 34 points and Guard, L. Liepinnaitis chipped in with 14 points. It was a very long night said Coach Wilson but that's basketball.
With just their second loss of the season, the All Stars now have a win - loss record of 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the Norfolk League First Division. We fully believe that basketball games are won in practice said Coach Wilson. At this level, all of our games are published on line in advance. We are reliant upon the commitment of our players and their employers to support their timetables so that our players are available for practice and games. To date and midway through our season, we are still using our games as an opportunity to practice and play as a team.
The All Stars are back in action at City College next Sunday 15 January when they tip-off against Norwich Thunder at 7.15 pm. Doors open at 6.45 pm. Spectators welcome for free.

Dec 18, 2011
Norwich, England - The Norwich All Stars Men's basketball team ended their debut 2011 Norfolk League Division One campaign in festive mood as they handed the PCC Gunners from Gt Yarmouth their first divisional league lost of the season winning 100-69.
Four All Star players scored double
figures on the night led by the triple double effort from Power
Forward, Greg Streeter's who scored 35 points, 20 rebounds and 11
assists. Point Guard, Nizar Drou got in on the act scoring a season high
personal best 24 points and 10 assists. Swingman, Adam Janiszewski let

contributed another 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks whilst
combination guard, Tobias Benjamin rounded out the All Stars top scorers
netting 8 points and dished out 11 assists. Guards: Luke Halil, Nick
Bruce, Krystan Iliev and Stewart Taber all played fantastic said Coach
Wilson.
The win gives the All Stars a 6-1 League record and whilst the All Stars have a 8-1 record overall. We are in second place going into the break in a very competitive First Division. The league is far to close to single out a predicted winner. We've had an outstanding start to our Division One campaign. There are some great teams and players across the league and even though we have had some great wins in the score line, the games have seemed much closer. All of our players have played vital minutes and have played hard to the final buzzer which we hope will help us when we return to play in January 2012.
The All Stars will have to face the PCC Gunners on the road in Gt Yarmouth on Friday the 6th of January at the infamous Great Yarmouth Drill Hall. Our players will have to be in top form from the beginning of January. We have so many big games ahead of us when we return after the holidays. We must stay hungry, humble and ready for action said Coach Wilson.
I
am also proud to say that our Juniors have been outstanding and
continue to grow. TheJunior All Stars are ready to compete at National
Level. If Attitude determines Altitude than the future is bright indeed
for our juniors. Well done Everyone.
We thank all
12,000 plus visitors to our website this year. (Amazing) We wish all of

Norwich All Stars 90 steam past North Norfolk Vipers 41
December 4, 2011
Norwich, England- Power Forward and Team Captain, Greg Streeter scored a season high personal best 36 points including a thunderous one hand slam dunk to lead the Norwich All Stars senior men basketball team past North Norfolk Vipers 90 - 41, Sunday night at City College Norwich.
Adam Janiszewski also had a big night at the "Lab" contributing 26 points including four 3 pointers. Adding to the achievements of the night, debut guard and former All Star back from playing 3 years of basketball in the USA for Brooklyn College, New York, Nick Bruce added a double-double with 12 points and 15 assists while point guard Nizar Drou rounded out the All Stars top scorers against the Vipers with 8 points and 12 assists. The All Stars scored 7 three pointers throughout the game. What you don't see in the points column is all the hustle plays, numerous assists and morale boosting support made by Luke Grimbly, Krystan Iliev and Luke Halil said Norwich All Stars Head Coach, Freddie Wilson.
It was like being at a movie tonight where the Vipers tried to bite and inject venom but instead of it causing effect summoned a 'Beast" like basketball player to come out in power forward, Greg Streeter. Great footwork, power, timing, rebounding, athleticism, finese, range, hustle and awesome finishing ability was on the menu tonight for the up and coming Vipers. It was a amazing performance by the All Stars said Coach Wilson.
The All Stars won all 4 Periods: 19-8, 27-9, 16-14 and 28-10 in which the 90th point and final points of the game came with 3 seconds remaining with a slam dunk crowd pleasing, competition winning, get off me type, power slamming one handed dunk with authority from Greg Streeter. Everyone in the sports hall witnessed something special from our team tonight said Coach Wilson. The win gives the All Stars a 5-1 record in the Norfolk League Division One standings and improves their overall record to 7-1. M. Surridge, 11 points and I. Hannah, 11 points led the Vipers in scoring respectfully.
The All Stars have just one Division One League game before Christmas on Sunday, 18 December at City College Norwich (NR2 2LJ) Tip Off time 1915 hours when they host the Norfolk League One undefeated squad, PCC Gunners from Great Yarmouth. The All Stars recently defeated the Gunners 112 - 74 in the Norfolk Cup Competition. We cannot afford to take the Gunners lightly said Coach Wilson. This is our first year in the league and we have to remain humble, hungry and ready. Support the All Stars.
'Smooth Operators' as All Stars advance in Norfolk Cup Action
Norwich All Stars 112 PCC Gunners 74
27 November 2011
Norwich, United Kingdom
Jarrod Butler scored 28 points incuding
six 3 pointers, Greg Streeter added 27 points, Edvinas Sostakas added
20 points and Adam Janiszewski added 17 points to help the Norwich All
Stars cruise to an 112-74 win over undefeated PCC Gunners in the Norfolk
Cup Tournament action on Sunday night at City College Norwich.
Our team came to play tonight said Coach Wilson. All
of our players played and all of our players scored, hustled, gave
support and rooted for us to win. It was a incredible performance
against a formidable opponent. PCC Gunners had size, strength, a inside
and devastating outside game which we managed to contain. We then went
on display an arsenal of our own with jaw dropping effect. The All Stars
won all 4 quarters 30-16, 33-23, 24-14 and 22-21.
We knew the gunners would be tough and we were well aware of their prolific driving and shooting abilities. D. Demikis scored 30 points whilst Shooting Guard, T. Ceriauskas added 21 points respectfully to lead the Gunners attack.
What can I say, "Nizar Drou,
Luke Grimbly, Kevin Roberts, Ibartosz Gruska and debut point guard, Luke
Halil were all amazing. They were diving for loose balls, making great
passes, making cool and big time buckets. They were all just smooth
operators and got the job done" said Coach Wilson. Power Forward, Greg
Streeter played like Charles Barclay in his prime and 19 year old
Edvinas Sostakas had a double-double and 5 blocks. Adam Janiszewski's
commitment to drive back over 100 miles from a Saturday night out
concert to play along with Jarrod Butler's smack dab in the middle six 3
pointers from range and our total team effort meant this was our finest
game (to date) of the season.
The All stars are now 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Norfolk Basketball Division One League Standings. The All Stars are back in action next Sunday against North Norfolk Vipers who have already unleashed their venom on last years League One Winners, Notre Dame.
You can not take these teams lightly said Coach Wilson. Come and support the Norwich All Stars. Tip-Off is at 1915 hours at City College Norwich (NR2 2LJ)
Sostakas scores 37, Gary 28 as Norwich All Stars hold off Cougars 87-72
Edvinas Sostakas and Devin Gary combined for 65 points to lead Norwich All Stars past a never say quit Framingham Earl Cougars. Adam Janiszewski also scored double figures with 10 points respectively. Nizar Drou, Luke Grimbly and Kevin Roberts were all key in the game said Coach Wilson. The win gives the All Stars a 4-1 Norfolk League First Division record. The All Stars remain in 1st place in Division One.
"Edvinas came up Big for us today
without the pressense of poward forward, Greg Streeter. Devin Gary put
on a 3 point shooting clinic and our team defense was fantastic. Our
players made some outstanding assists and adjusted well to the flow of
the game, said Coach Wilson. The All Stars are back in Norfolk Cup Game
action against PCC Gunners from Great Yarmouth on Sunday 27 November at
City College. Tip-Off is at 1915

NORWICH ALL STARS 70 V ATTLEBOUROUGH 79
NOVEMBER 6, 2011
Norwich, England The Norwich All Stars men's basketball team ran into a hot shooting Attleborough team Sunday night at City College, falling 79-70. The loss drops the All Stars to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the Norfolk Basketball League First Division. Attleborough progress up the League Table and remain undefeated.
We missed a few gears tonight due to lack of team practice and player availability. Referees call what they see and we have to adjust accordingly. Tonight we had the opportunities but simply misfired in places. A good tune up in team practice with players available for games is our desire. It's a wake up call for the All Stars said Coach Wilson.

Norwich All Stars U16 Juniors Win League Opener by 31 points to Top Norwich City U16 Basketball Team 64 - 33
November 5, 2011
Easton College, England - Norwich All Star juniors after a cautious start jumped out to take the lead and never looked back at Easton College in a 64-33 impressive victory over Norwich City U16's squad.
The win gives the All Stars a record of 1-0 in the Norfolk Under 16 League.
Norwich City got off to a great start, taking a early lead in the first quarter before the All Stars defense came alive forcing Norwich City to turn the ball over. Forwards, Todd Nixon and Ollie Bartrum inside presence was key as the All Stars took control of the boards. This led to a all out offensive attack led by junior point guard Luke Halil making numerous assists to guards Isaac Lewis-Smith and Thomas Hood. The All Stars running and passing game went into overdrive as forward Kobe Winston and guard Konnar Lanham all got into the act with major contributions.
We only had seven players available today said coach Wilson but those 7 players played like we had a full squad. We looked great and focused today. All the practice we put in at City College proved that we can win ball games against title contenders Norwich City Basketball Club. The win puts the Norwich All Star Juniors on the map. Interested in trying out for our club? Contact Coach Wilson at: gotofred@btinternet.com to arrange a trial with the Norwich All Stars.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After last year's first ever NAIA National Tournament Final-Four appearance, the Northwood University men's basketball team has been picked to win the 2011-2012 national championship. In the NAIA Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Seahawks took the top spot and are preseason ranked No. 1 in the nation. This is the first time in the history of the program that the Seahawks begin the season at the top of the list.
Other opponents ranked in the Top 25 include No. 4 Bellevue University (Neb.), No. 8 Embry-Riddle, and No. 19 Warner University.
In addition to being picked No. 1 in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Seahawks were also picked to finish first in the Sun Conference regular season. All Stars I outscore Dereham 139 - 52 to advance to next round of Norfolk Cup
The Dereham team (2nd Division) played with determination which doesn''t reflect in the score line. Dereham will have benefitted greatly from this game to ready themselves for their opponents in the Second Division. Dereham are up and coming as they made a number of very entertaining baskets against the All Stars who now have an overall record of 3 - 0. All of the All Stars saw major minutes. The game gave us a chance to gel as a team and to look at some of our operating systems in prepation for our First Division League games coming up. There are a number of areas where we must improve in order to compete in the First Division where there are several teams as well that remain undefeated. You can't afford to take any of these teams lightly said Coach Wilson. The All Stars had 5 players scoring double figures spearheaded by Jarrod Butler (41 pts, 37.5 ppg) Adam Janiszewski (30 pts) Greg Streeter (29 pts) Edvinas Sostakas (10 pts) and Luke Grimbly (10 pts). Point Guard Nizar Drou had over 10 assists and Kwame Darko along with Kevin Roberts made major contributions and points as well. Coach Wilson was delighted for our team to receive international communication from organizations abroad and within the UK taking notice of the All Stars. Our fans and supporters are very encouraging and most definitely appreciated. We need some cheerleaders. Can you help? Support the Norwich All Stars. The All Stars are back in action this coming Sunday at City College Norwich (NR2 2LJ) with a Division One home game against the University of East Anglia First Team. Tip - Off - 1915 hours. All Stars II - 74 v Div 1 Framingham Earl - 96 Exit Norfolk Cup to Norfolk Plate
All Stars II with only six players ran out of steam in the early 4th quarter against the experienced 1st Division side, Framingham Earl. The All Stars II team finished the game with only 4 players as two of the All Stars were fouled out of the game. The All Stars were simply to exausted but hats off to the players as they never gave up. Devin Gary poured in an incredible 58 points on his debut performance. All Stars will have to address the reliability issues and train more if the team is to advance thru the prestigious Norfolk Plate rounds.

"IF YOU DON'T GET IT THE FIRST TIME, BACK UP AND TRY IT AGAIN" JAMES BROWN
People handle losing matches and rejection in many ways. It's the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Try not to dwell on the negatives for to long. Instead think on the positives, think about what you have learned about you and what you can improve on to help your team. Refocus your goals with your coach, get back on the track and move forward. You are still a WINNER and know that there are many people still rooting for you. There is a written principle that says 'persistency and consistency in the pursuit of a worthy goal will lead to SUCCESS'. Stay humble, stay confident, smile at yourself in the mirror 100 times and then get on the good foot. The Sun always shines after the rain.
